The Corporate Theme Party: Evening Suicide or Creative Reward?

Posted By Lea Cerdido

Corporate themed events can be a huge hit with your employees if they are well-planned, enthusiastically supported and appropriate. If you don’t plan your theme properly, however, your event could be the one that everyone talks about for months afterwards for all the wrong reasons! Here are some tips to help you pick the right theme to make your event unforgettable rather than unmentionable:

  • Remember who your guests are. Is this event going to be adults only or will families be participating too? Will clients be present? What age group do your guests fall into? This will help you narrow down your theme choices considerably and help you to choose something relevant as well as suitable and fun.
  • Get guests' perspectives. Your company will give you an outline of what they want for their corporate event, but don’t forget about the needs of the rest of your guests. Would a night or day event suit them better? What catering and beverage provisions are appropriate? These answers will affect the themes that you can choose from – there’s no use trying to plan a glamorous night club themed party for early in the day! Once your event is planned, you want the most people possible to be able to attend, and your guests' needs play a large part in dictating that.
  • Type of event. Different themes will be more appropriate for a Christmas party than a company awards ceremony, so knowing what is central to the event is essential. Some events are more casual than others, allowing you to have more fun with your theme, while others should have a level of glamour or formality.
  • Think outside the box. Movies, current events and sporting events can be a surprisingly great source of creativity and inspiration. If your clients are big sports fans, related sporting events could provide you with a theme. With the Oscar Awards still fresh in people’s minds, an Oscar themed event would be both glamorous and very popular.

When you consider your theme carefully for your corporate event, your guests will leave feeling happy and appreciated, boosting morale and corporate relationships. If you are worried that it may turn into a nightmare, contact a professional events company today and have all their experience in corporate themed events at your service.
